For those of you that follow this blog, I just want to say sorry for the lack of consistent posting lately. I am going to try to get back on schedule in the next few weeks and start posting some smaller, informative posts but, for now, I’m just trying to get dug out from under the pile.
You see, I’m swamped. Absolutely chock with work, which is great. Interestingly, if you read the newspapers (and you probably shouldn’t) the economy is in a real mess. However, in the past month, I spent a week in Mexico with a couple of high profile shooters, spent two days talking non stop to ad agencies and big corporate clients and everyone says the same thing, they’re VERY busy. Calgary ad agencies are telling me they are booked into next year in some cases and I’ve been waiting three or four days for email and phone replies from my computer guy because he’s so busy so, in spite of what you read in the papers, an awful lot of people seem to be working. Vincent Laforet, over at his blog HERE seems to be very busy as well and, reading the Sportshooter forums, there does not seem to be a lot of talk about clients canceling work etc so, I’m feeling pretty good about business for 2009.
Like I said, I’ve been a little light on blog postings. In the past four weeks, I’ve been in Mexico, came home for one night then went to Saskatchewan for a pipeline photography job for an oil and gas client, then home for a night, Edmonton for a couple of days for another job then a series of day jobs, one after the other and now I’m trying to get ready for a week of shooting around Chicago for another gas pipeline client so, everything’s coming up roses right now.
I do have some good stuff coming up on the marketing side of things as well as some workshop updates etc. so, relax, smoke a cigar, call your grandmother, take a nap. I’ll be back.
