There's usually three approaches to these bio pages. There's the third person account where I write it myself but pretend it was written by someone else. These usually come off sounding like the subject is Picasso and the writer is either in awe of them, stalking them or getting a percentage of their sales. Second is the bulleted list which is great, it's impersonal, it's to the point and it's topical. It's not so good though if you can only come up with two things for the list. Lastly, there's the first person account, where I tell you about myself, my accomplishments and how great I am. These usually come off as bragging but, since I can't find someone in awe of me, and can't figure out how to do a bulleted list in Dreamweaver, here goes:
My focus is on travel and commercial photography and I divide my time between magazine assignments and creating imagery for companies for use in brochures, web sites and corporate reports. My travel work has appeared in The New York Times, Canadian Geographic, Our Canada, Connecticut Magazine, Rough Guides travel guides and numerous airline in flight magazines. My commercial client list includes some of the biggest oil and gas and industrial companies in Canada. My work has also won a number of awards.
I am fully insured, carry property and liability insurance and have current H2S training, WHIMIS training and industrial site safety training. All of my photography and post processing is done using the latest digital equipment and Canon professional cameras and I have an extensive supply of portable studio lighting, backdrops and accessories to deliver the style and quality of imagery you need.
I am based in Calgary, Canada but regularly execute work all over the world. Commercial rates are very reasonable and usage terms are flexible. If you'd like to find out more about rates for commercial work or want to discuss an assignment, please email or call me at the links below.
